Hisense Mobile Communications Technology Co., Ltd (abbreviated as Hisense Mobile hereafter), established in August 2005, is one of the largest mobile terminal solution suppliers in China. The product lineups include mobile handsets, Linux OS Smartphones, wireless modules, PC cards, and industry customized terminal products based on the prevailing telecommunication technologies, such as CDMA 1X/EVDO, GSM/GPRS, and TD-SCDMA.

Hisense Mobile is formerly known as Hisense Mobile Communications Research Institute (abbreviated as HMCI), which was founded in June 2000 by the Hisense Group and was one of the first teams focusing on CDMA terminal R&D in China.

2001, HMCI introduces C2101, the first color display CDMA mobile phone in China, which turned out to be the China Unicom network benchmark test phone.

2003, HMCI introduces C3698 series phones, which are the first phones to support China Unicom CDMA 1X high speed services.

2004, developed inhouse, the WCDMA 3G phone W2003 passes MTNet tests.

Hisense becomes a member of TD-SCDMA Industry Association in Dec 2003 and launches TD-SCDMA prototypes in 2004, contributing to the national communications industry development. May 2005, GSM products are announced.

Hisense Mobile, taking advantage of the strong technical capability and the effective quality control system, successfully provides dozens of quality solutions to domestic and overseas handset OEM vendors, carriers, agents and distributors. The products are sold to South-east Asia, Middle Asia, Middle East Area, South America, and African countries, building up the industry reputation and gaining substantial customer approval. At the same time, Hisense Mobile takes several national level research projects, and in turn improves its own self-developing capabilities.

Hisense Mobile has set up an excellent domestic development and test facility, including shielded rooms, hardware labs, software labs, mechanical labs, reliability labs, audio labs, CAD room, all equipped with instruments introduced from Agilent, R&S, and other world well-known brands.

Hisense Mobile has an experienced and highly skilled R&D engineering team comprising of more than 400 employees all of which work on software, hardware, mechanical design, industrial design, techniques of production, product planning, and QA, QC. After more than 7 years R&D in 2G, 2.5G and 3G mobile terminals, this team is also acclaimed in the handsets industry. Hisense Mobile has applied for a large quantity of IPRs.
